Afterwards, tea and cake was served in the garden and Rebecca and Jamie slipped off for their reception venue where their bridal portraits were to be had.
I had full use of the gardens and beautiful surroundings of Badger's Mount Hotel and Restaurant in Leicestershire, and a whole lot of time with just the Bride and Groom, which is a very rare thing to be had! I cannot stress how important it is to schedule in alone time with your photographer, just the two of you, to capture your bride and groom portraits. Even just 20 minutes can create some of your favourite and most treasured photographs of your whole day.
Their wedding breakfast was friendly and comfortable. The speeches took place afterwards and were hilarious and comical, yet heartfelt and sincere. After filling stomachs further with tea, coffee and home made fudge, all guests were free to take a leisurely stroll of the gardens, pull some poses in the photo booth or simply basque in the slowly lowering sunshine over the surrounding fields.
As late evening approached, Rebecca and Jamie's evening reception was set up in the conservatory, where they decorated with yet more beautifully hand decorated jars, flowers and bunting. Their wedding cake, baked and decorated by a very talented friend, looked stunning as they performed the official cake cutting to applause and shouts of 'lets see another kiss!' And this is where I left them, the happy newlyweds, with their arms around each other, sun setting gently in the background, with all their friends and family surrounding them, on what had been one of the most thoughtful and loving days I had ever witnessed.
How this is work, I don't know! It is hard work. It is time consuming also, but it is also what I love and I wouldn't ever change it!
