So a pregnancy is supposed to last 40 weeks... here is me at 35 weeks pregnant
At the beginning of this month, I reached my 36 week mark and since I had been feeling big and slow and heavy, and couldn't wait to meet her, I started to joke that little baby Sinclair could arrive any time now.
Notice I said 'joked'.
Obviously I wanted her to go full term so she would be completely ready to enter the world, and I would have the time I thought I had to fully prepare myself for this huge event.
She must have thought my joking was me being serious because on the evening of my 36th week and second day, a doctor at the hospital told me I was in labour. I honestly thought he was the one joking around now but before I knew it my waters were being broken and two hours and a bit later, she was here!
Skye Harmony Sinclair
Born Monday 4th March 2013 at 2:13am, weighing 5lbs 1oz, 3 weeks and 5 days early
Since she was early and so small, she was very poorly when she was born. This is her first photo after having all her wires and tubes out, most of the machines switched off and out of her incubator at 8 days old.
After a long and agonising 10 day stay in intensive and special care at hospital, we were able to bring her home all better and fully enjoy her loveliness!
I am an extremely happy mummy...
...and he is one smitten daddy!
Today was Skye's expected due date- it's strange to think that when she is already 4 weeks old and has been through so much in her tiny little life. At it's lowest, her weight dropped to 4lbs 12oz, but she is now getting bigger and stronger and we love having her home with us, completing our little family of three.
