April A-Z Blogging Challenge: L

I love Scotland for it's wide open, isolated areas- you can go walking in a place or stop by the roadside and see nothing else but the vast landscape and a few sheep. I love looking for those 'lone' objects and places. Here are just a few examples-

My husband skimming pebbles on the shore at sunset with not another soul in sight

A lone cottage, the only one on the other side of the loch- my ideal home!

One lone lighthouse guarding the coastline for ships sailing the Atlantic

A beautiful tree I spotted along the roadside last September near the Ardnamurchan Peninsula, on view to the world atop it's own grassy mound

Lovely pictures Rach. You might want to reconsider your dream house though. Being so isolated like that it most likely has no street address, meaning Google maps would most likely not recognise it, therefore it wouldn't exist. If it doesn't 'exist' you may have lots of trouble paying electric bills (if there is electricity there) and also having any sort of internet connection installed. Then we wouldn't be able to see your great photos!
I actually read a woman's blog who lives in Australia with these exact problems and found it fascinating! She'd recently moved into a new house which stood all alone on a street, and the street according to GPS still did not exist. Life had become extremely difficult for her, and she never could have imagined how being all alone could be, so lonely!
haha, anyway, just thought I'd share that with you. Lovely photos once more :)

Great pics! I love the tree. It seems to shout defiance. It's lower left branch seems to be beckoning others to enjoy its shade.
