Royal Visit to DeMontfort University, Leicester

Four and a half hours stood still in a space not even big enough to lift my arms up properly, aching legs, back and shoulders and lots of being shoved around for...

...this,

this,

 and this!

Not what I wanted or what I was told would happen, which sucks, but I am chuffed I can now say I have photographed the Queen of England!

Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, His Royal Highness the Duke of Edinburgh and Her Royal Highness the Duchess of Cambridge visited DeMontfort University, of which I am a student, to kick off the beginning of Her Majesty's Diamond Jubilee Tour, celebrating 60 years of Queen Elizabeth II's reign.

Rachel, I know that you were expecting more then this and rightly so as you were told you would have much more access then this. People wasted your time and got your hopes up, and then rudely let you down, but you made the most out of it and it didn't put you off, which is brilliant! When these people that promise things and don't deliver enter the real world they will find that they won't be able to keep up with demands, and life will let them down badly. Anyway, nice photos!

Sometimes it's about getting a good picture from a bad situation, which makes it even more satisfying for the photographer. You will find that not getting exactly what you are told is very common in the world, as disappointing as that is. Anyhow, lovely to see the queen in Leicester, the great upholder of Christianity in England :) As cramped as you were, it must have been a thrill!

Rach, looking back over your pictures again, I'm wondering how you forgot to mention what looks like Kate Middleton in the background of the last photo?!

Hi Dunc, yes it was exciting to be there. The atmosphere was great, especially as the Royal car pulled up outside the Gateway at DMU. I just had to make sure I could peek through the tripods and over the heads of the press photographers right in front of me! I haven't failed to mention Kate- she's the Duchess of Cambridge and I mentioned her along with the Queen and her Husband, the Duke of Edinburgh!

Yes I see, I wasn't aware of her title! Oh dear, what a rotten Englishman :)

Oh my goodness Anna, yes! I am aware. Seems like no matter what I do or say, she doesn't get the message!
Thanks for your support, I appreciate it!

Well spotted Anna. Unbelievable that this person has dared to copy Rachel's work yet again. Pictures, words....you name it, she copies it and passes it off as her own. I feel sorry for her. It's pathetic.
