Photographing junk

A little while ago, I visited the local car junk yard in my village with a friend. I've wanted to photograph there for a while as there is so much interesting stuff stored away there. It made for some gritty, quirky images which I absolutely love. Most people would probably think it is all just dirty junk, but to me, each rusty car engine is a piece of art, an opportunity to make a beautiful image.

From those pics it looks like a very dangerous place to be! Glad you didn't blow yourself up :)

Just a funny thought- so many people here would look at those pics and say, " that's a great place to take engagements photos."
What?!?
I know, sad, but true- tons of couples are finding huge interest in the urban/grungy look for the backgrounds of the photos that first introduce them, to those they know, as a-soon-to-be married couple.
Wierd.

But aside from that thought, those pictures are awesome, some of them made me feel like I was right there with you!

Em, I was thinking the same thing! I always look out for unique places for engagement/bridal/family shoots and this yard was ideal for those who like the grungy feel. I like finding pretty places too!
Heidi, I will never forget Mr Moody and Egon Schile!
Dunc, don't worry, I didn't blow up!
