I took this photo out of my apartment window in Salt Lake City. It was just coming to the end of a rain shower and the sun was showing through over my mountain. Made me think of how important it is to keep promises. God promised Noah and his family he would never flood the earth again, and every time we see a rainbow, it is a confirmation of that promise. Same applies to us. It is SO important. If promises are broken, so is trust, which leads on to a whole load of other stuff....

I've got mail!

I have been waiting for this parcel to be delivered for over a week and it finally made it's way to me today! All the way from Hong Kong, China. Ivory, full Belgian lace. It's perfection. And looks stunning in photos. I can hardly wait to put it to use in some gorgeous portrait shoots!!
The stamps on the parcel were really beautiful, take a look!

This made me smile

Saw this little feather caught on a twig, and although it was trapped there, it still seemed free and alive, fluttering in the fresh springtime breeze. I think we can all learn a lesson from this seemingly insignificant, yet powerful little feather. I know I have!

Time for spring!

Happy first official day of spring! I am quite glad to be shot of winter now and am excited to welcome in the sunshine and warmth :)
I'm a little addicted to crocuses at the moment. But they're pretty good looking, so it's ok!
I spesh like these photos I took today. All delicate and pretty.

Erin Jayne...

...just after a tantrum. A dummy solves everything!
If you look real close at this first photo, you can even see a tiny little tear resting just under her eye :)

Photo of the day

The sun seems to have hidden its face today and rain has 'graced' us with its presence. I shot this picture on one of my little adventures. Again, it was one of those're walking along, minding your own business, when suddenly something catches your eye from across the street, almost going unnoticed...the sun was shining really bright and this scene took me right back to my holidays in Spain and Portugal. It's amazing how something in my little English village can be made to look the spitting image of a spanish villa...I know it doesn't have white-washed walls and all that, but to me, its a pretty good likeness!
So, please come back, sun, and show me more!

I have new shoes! I love them, even though they are only a cheapo pair! I think they describe me perfectly.

I love photographing old, weathered and aged objects. They have so much character. I enjoy making them look beautiful.

Snowdrops and Crocuses II

I took another stroll up to the village church armed with my macro lens this time. The snowdrops had opened up a bit more and more crocuses were bursting up through the ground.

The straight and narrow

LOVE these photos. I can't decide whether I like the B&W or the full colour one best though.
It reminds me of the straight and narrow path that leads back to God, hence the Church at the tip of the bright yellow line. There are no other paths leading from it, no uncertain edges and no confusion as to where your eye is led.

Another thought...'follow the yellow brick road!'

So hopefully that's alot for you all to ponder on :)

Spring is here!

I've had a real good day today. I feel very happy. The sun is showing it's face alot more, the coldness is ebbing its way out slowly but surely and spring is well on it's way!!!
I spotted these beautiful little snowdrops and crocuses springing up randomly out of the ground in the village church graveyard. It symbolises new life, new growth and new starts. And that is exactly what I am doing, welcoming in the newness of this year and the surprises it has in store for me!
