I'm still here!

It's been a while!

Rachel C Photography is still here, still taking bookings, still shooting, still editing, still making images!

I've just been enjoying my gorgeous little family for a while instead of blogging. I regularly update my facebook page, so those of you who have checked there in the last year or so will be somewhat up to date with what I have been doing in this time.

Big changes since I last blogged- my family increased by a 5lb 12oz sized bundle of pink in November 2015. So I now have double the pink in the Rachel C Photo family and it feels so perfect! Two little assistants to train up in the years to come!

I can't say that blogging is going to become a frequent thing again, but I may just post snippets of work and life here and there. Go see my facebook page if you want a more frequently updated place to see what we are up to in 2017 and beyond.

I'll leave you with a picture of my two beauties. They're extremely photogenic, which is great for a photographer mummy like me!

I always enjoy photographing the groomsmen at weddings- formal or informal, they always love being in front of the camera!

Mr & Mrs Oliver, July 2015

Introducing my July 2015 bride and groom.

With a pastel rainbow theme and hints of pirate, this Leicestershire countryside wedding proved to be a fun and unique day full of personal touches. I was photographing at Badgers Mount in Leicestershire again, which is fast becoming one of my favourite locations. Take a look at the colourful bridesmaids' outfits, relaxed evening atmosphere and the magnificent horse and carriage arrival, as well as all the creative handmade details.

Walking through wildflowers

We decided to visit one of our local woods this month. We always drive past it and have been meaning to visit for a while now. I went along armed with my camera in search of bluebells, but alas, there were only meagre offerings to be found, much like the whole of the wood itself- not much more than a glorified dog walking path! We did however stumble upon this narrow, winding path full of little white wildflowers, which after two minutes of walking opened up into a wide brown clearing with dog waste bins on either side...
Needless to say, we didn't stay long, and we will be in search of a much more interesting and awe-inspiring place to stretch our legs in the future!

Springtime before and after

Isn't it annoying when you really want to take the perfect picture of picture perfect new lambs but they're hidden behind unsightly wire fences and such? Ha! I had this problem today on a very warm and sunny springtime stroll. To one side of me was a nature reserve with hazy views over to the hills of North Wales and to the other side, fields filled with these beautiful creatures snoozing in the sunshine, or in the case of this little fellow, smiling for my camera! Below is my choice of images I took. Yeh, it's cute but it's spoiled by that ugly wire.

Helloo there photoshop!!!

As if by magic, we have a perfect picture of a picture perfect spring baby! In just a couple of simple steps, we can totally eliminate the wire fence from the image to reveal lamby in all his curly-coated glory! A couple of tweaks on the lighting and it is complete!

I love Photoshop!

Last month we took our daughter for a hike through Delamere forest. Daddy and daughter enjoyed stomping through mud and laughing at dogs while I spent some much needed quality time with my D7000.

730 days of beautiful chaos

730 days

17,520 hours

1,051,200 minutes

63,072,000 seconds

of pure, unmitigated chaos.

Time these last two years has never been hushed.

I can't eat without having little finger holes poked into my food.

My floors never stay crumb or toy free for more than 5 minutes.

Ditto with my clothes- fresh on today? Must be time for sticky fingerprints to decorate them then!

I can never just sit and hear quiet.

I haven't seen the bottom of my washing basket since the beginning of the above calculations.

I still haven't caught up on sleep I lost since the beginning of the above calculations.

I more often than not am accompanied to the bathroom. Nice.

I also never go an hour without a kiss or a cuddle.

I always have a little friend around me all day to keep me company.

I find myself with a little hand to hold throughout the day, just because.

I get to play dress up and do cute hairstyles.

I look into a striking pair of sky blue eyes and see total love.

I never have to worry about being bored!

Because although life is chaos, it is a beautiful, enriching and enlightening chaos that I can't help but rejoice in.

And it's all because of this one small, strong-willed, unyielding yet perfectly sweet, dainty, whirlwind of a girl!

Happy 2nd birthday to my dolly girl! Now bring on the potty training!!!
